Tunnel entrance closed with metal door (Nepal)

I stumbled upon this adit is a remote rural region of Nepal. It looks like the kind of tunnel built for Hydro Power projects, but i could not investigate (I didn't want to break the padlock, since it was in a village).

It looks like it was bored for a project that was later abandoned, as I could not see and dam of hydro-electric project in this region of Nepal when looking at the satellite photos on Google Earth.
