Water well - near Udaipur (India)

You can see the flat stones sticking out forming a precarious stair to go down in the well. Those deep water wells are several hundreds years old, and they can be found everywhere in the country side in Rajasthan. They are usually equipped with a bucket chain pump (visible in this photo) powered by oxes, to pump the water from the well into irrigation channels.
