the great san francisco pillow fight - 67 photos

This giant pillow fight is a flashmob-type event that takes place on Justin Herman Plazza (San Francisco) on Valentine's day (Feb 14) between 6 and 8pm.

Photos taken in 2009, 2008 and 2007.

There were about one thousand people in 2009 at the San Francisco Pillow Fight. It was a lot of fun like always!

I wish I still had the old Sony R1 that I used last year (an excellent camera for this type of event). I used the Sony A700, a generally better camera, but the A700 has no live view and it is not very good at focusing fast and accurately in low-light fast moving scenes like this. So a number of my shots were not well focussed this year :( oh well...
