Plain of Jars - Phonsavan (Laos).
Thousands of ancient stone jars lie scattered throughout a plain near the city of Phonsavan (Laos).
Archaeologists believe that the jars were used 1,500–2,000 years ago, by an ancient civilization whose culture is now totally unknown.
Anthropologists and archeologists think that the jars were funeral urns.
The Plain of Jars is littered with UXO (Unexploded bombs), in particular cluster munitions, the results of massive US bombardment during the Lao Civil War.
