joshimath region & alaknanda valley - 62 photos

Photos of the region around Joshimath and the Alaknanda Valley (India).

The Alaknanda is one of the headstreams of the Ganges.

When I was there, the road to Badrinath, one of the holy pilgrimage destinations for Hindus in India, in the upper Alaknanda Valley, was not opened yet.

So, instead, I went to explore the Dhauliganga valley, one of the tributary of the Alaknanda.
