Tesseract partnered with Digital Ambiance to create a group of five Art Cars for a fire and arts festival, held annually in Nevada. Starting from an original concept for a fleet of space themed animals that could link up to form a large sound system, we designed and built some of the most high-tech art cars the playa has seen.

The shells are single piece fiberglass molds internally lit by a lighting system created by Photonic Bliss. Sound is provided by Danley Sound Labs speakers which are programmed to communicate wirelessly between the cars, allowing the pack to meet up anytime and link all five sound systems to form one large dance floor. The dashboard of each car features a 12″ tablet running a custom app that lets the cars see where each other are via GPS, text to coordinate plans, and control the lighting and sound systems. The fleet was a huge success and Tesseract is working to maintain and upgrade the vehicles to prepare for a long future of performances at events and festivals.
