Green painted brick house with earthen floor patio in village (India)

There is earthen floor structure like an elevated sidewalk around the house (presumably to prevent it from being flooded). This is a common structure that was built around most houses in this village.

Dry mud or clay is widely used for construction in rural areas of India, where people are very poor.
