The Bhagirathi river in Gangotri (India)

Men are gathering some rocks, probably for construction.

This was the early spring, so the river was still low. Later in the season, the warmer weather would melt the snow and ice of the glaciers and the water level would rise a lot.

In Gangotri, the Bhagirathi river bed if filled with massive boulders that may have been brought there by huge floods or maybe pushed by glaciers.
