Found it very easy to pray to St. Catherine as I was face to face with her. I feel very inspired. It made me feel very close to her as here was the actual person. loved it.
Went to the Church and was told by a young priest who was kneeling near to me that her nose is missing because the incorrupt head was stolen at one point by people from a neighboring town and when the people of Siena fought to retrieve it the head was dropped and the nose fell off! I have also heard that when incorrupt bodies, or in this case, heads! are moved they start to decay. This is the reason this relic is in such a state of decay, but still not corrupt and still a miracle as far as I am concerned. Catholics are not dualists and therefore the body is good as the spirit. Good because it was through her body that she knew God.
