Sunrise at the summit of Mount Semeru, the highest mountain in Java (12,060 ft), and an active volcano.

The ascent of this volcano was the toughest trek i ever did, so i'm glad i got a couple of amazing photos at the top. from the base camp, i started the climb at night at 1:30am with a headlamp, to reach the summit by sunrise. the last half-mile stretch of the climb is basically a very steep heap of loose gravel.
